Iron Legs 2 Weeks Out - 2025

Hello, Fellow Racers!

As the race is two weeks away, we just wanted to send out an email with some updates and reminders.  Please read this through as we have made some changes from past years:

Racer and crew manual: please read through the racer manual via the race website or weblink below to check info on your specific race.  There is a schedule of events, information on cut-off times, drop bags, and directions to the new start line, etc.: Iron+Legs_Racer+Guide_2025.pdf

Camping: as the start location has moved to Paddy’s Flats Group Campsite (2.5km west of the old location of Station Flats), we are able to accommodate racers and crew who wish to camp for $25/tent or trailer for the weekend.  Please email info@ironlegs.ca to request more information and/or register for this.

Park pass: all vehicles will require a Kananaskis park pass.  Please purchase this online at Kananaskis Conservation Pass | Alberta.ca

Race maps and GPX files: these have been updated to reflect the new starting point and can be found on the race website (find these in the distance: i.e. 100k): https://www.ironlegs.ca

Race package pick-up: Thursday, August 14th between 3pm-6pm @ Gord’s Running Store; out of towners can pick up Saturday at the race start between 5am-5:45am.

Volunteers: the racers thrive because of the dedication of our volunteers!  We are so thankful to those who can spend a few hours or some even the day volunteering for various tasks.  We are still in need of racer check-in, aid station volunteers, road marshals, and finish-line supporters.  If you (when done racing) or a member of your crew, friends, or family would like to volunteer while you are racing, please check out the following website for a gander at positions still available: https://ironlegs.ivolunteer.com/event_004

IMPORTANT: Pacers are new this year for the 50 mile and 100k races – woohoo!  Pacers can start at the Moose Packers aid station # 5-6 or Fullerton aid station #7.   Pacers can claim their bibs and fill in waivers at package pick-up or at the race start/finish area.

Aid station food: expect all the regular aid station munchies (potato chips, gummies, pickles, M&Ms, watermelon, bananas, oranges, cookies, pepperoni, Coke, Ginger Ale); some have baby potatoes and meatballs and other goodies.  Electrolyte drink is partially sponsored by Fluid.  Please check out their awesome products at Fluid Sports Nutrition Online Store

Finish line food: a vegetarian pesto bean soup, a meatball stew, and a meaty chili will be served at the finish line starting at 2pm.  Please bring a spoon and bowl for the soup and perhaps a mug for hot drinks (there are always cold drinks galore).

Registration closes: August 9th.

That’s all for now, folks!

Can’t wait to see you on course in two weeks!
